Ingredients
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup eggnog
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 8 slices of thick-cut bread (Brioche, Challah, or French bread works best)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Maple syrup, for serving
- Powdered sugar, for garnish (optional)
- Fresh berries (optional, for garnish)
How to Make ?
Prepare the Eggnog Mixture: In a shallow bowl or pie dish, whisk together the eggs, eggnog, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth and fully combined.
Heat the Pan: Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add a tablespoon of butter to coat the pan.
Dip the Bread: Dip each slice of bread into the eggnog mixture, ensuring both sides are coated well. Let the excess mixture drip off before placing the bread on the skillet.
Cook the French Toast: Place the dipped bread slices onto the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and slightly crispy. Add more butter to the pan as needed.
Serve: Serve the French toast warm with maple syrup, a dusting of powdered sugar, and fresh berries, if desired.
