Ingredients
- 140 grams dark chocolate (about 1 cup), chopped
- 120 ml heavy cream (½ cup)
- 2–3 drops peppermint oil or extract (to taste)
- 65 grams crushed candy canes (about ⅓ cup)
- 2–3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (for rolling)
- Optional: edible glitter or decorations
How to Make ?
- Make the Ganache: Add chopped dark chocolate to a bowl. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream and peppermint oil (or extract) over low heat until it begins to simmer. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and stir until smooth.
- Chill: Place the bowl in the fridge and allow the ganache to firm up for about 2–3 hours.
- Form Truffles: Once the ganache has firmed, scoop out small amounts with a teaspoon and roll them into walnut-sized balls.
- Coat: Roll each truffle in crushed candy canes or cocoa powder.
- Chill Again: Place the truffles in an airtight container and refrigerate until they are fully set, for at least 30 minutes before serving.
These truffles can be stored in the fridge for up to a week or frozen for later use. They’re a great addition to any holiday treat platter!
