- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup pineapple juice
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves (optional)
- Pineapple rings (optional, for garnish)
- Maraschino cherries (optional, for garnish)
How to Make ?
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).Prepare the Ham:
- Place the ham in a roasting pan.
- Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern using a sharp knife. Optionally, stud the scored areas with whole cloves for extra flavor.
Make the Glaze:
- In a small saucepan, combine the brown sugar, pineapple juice, Dijon mustard, and ground cloves.
- Heat over medium heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves and the mixture thickens slightly (about 5 minutes).
Apply the Glaze:
- Brush the glaze generously over the ham, ensuring it’s well coated.
- If using pineapple rings and cherries, secure them onto the ham with toothpicks.
Bake the Ham:
- Cover the ham loosely with foil and bake for 1 hour, basting with the glaze every 20 minutes.
- For the final 30 minutes, remove the foil to allow the glaze to caramelize and brown.
Rest and Serve:
- Once the ham is cooked and the glaze is golden and bubbly, remove it from the oven. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
